Get to Know Us: Meet Michelle!

Reading Lark thought it would be fun to introduce you to one of our bloggers until you have had the chance to get to know each of us a little better. In the near future, we will let you climb inside the head of some of our Larks who haven't been featured on the blog yet. Our next spotlight is on Michelle, a reviewer on Reading Lark & Reading Lark After Dark. The questions were created by Donna @ Eve's Fan Garden for a similar segment they did awhile back.

Name: Michelle

One of your Nicknames: Oh I have many, but the ones most current and often used these days is Simi – Yes, after the Dark Hunters character. Some of my godbabies even call me Aunt Simi - I don’t think they know I have any other name.

Current Job: Administrative Assistant/office manager for brokerage company in the sugar industry. Are you sleeping yet?

Dream Job: Librarian. No, I’m not even remotely kidding. All those books, and computers, helping people find just the right book or series or a child who’s a reluctant reader? There’s nothing better than that. That and the enforced quiet ;)

About Books:

Name one book that changed your life: Anne Rice’s Interview with a Vampire and the rest of that series, along with all of her other ones. I’d always loved to read, but at 15 or 16, these were my first adult books. And her writing was so rich, descriptive and alive. I fell and fell hard, and I love them to this day.

Name one book you enjoy reading over and over again: Outlander by Diana Gabaldon.

Name one book that made you laugh out loud: The latest Immortals After Dark book by Kresley Cole, Dreams of a Dark Warrior. Regin had me laughing so hard that the husband, the cat and the dog were looking at me like the crazy lady I am.

Name one book that when you finished you HAD to call or text someone about it right away: Catching Fire of the Hunger Games trilogy. Whew! Those are intense!

Name one book that made you cry: The Lovely Bones by Alice Seabold.

Multiple.Ugly.Cries.

Name one book you wish had never been written: Ok, I stared at this question for quite a bit and thought: “But I love reading! What am I gonna say…..Oh wait!!” The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I hate that book with the fire of a thousand suns. HATE.

Name one book you wish had been written: Midnight Sun. C’mon Stephenie Meyer!

Name one book you have on your book shelf that you are looking forward to

reading: First of all, my TBR stack is embarrassing. And I can pick just one. That is

not how I roll. I have to say, The Game of Thrones by George R. R. Martin and the Edwin Edwards biography.

Name one book you are currently reading: Devotion by Kristie Cook

Name one thing you love most about reading: I get to go anywhere in the world I want to go, and I can be whoever I want to be. Its an escape, with vivid, beautiful worlds and all sorts of interesting new friends. I can kick ass and kiss a prince. But other than that, it has also brought me some of the best friends I have ever had, and ones I will be keeping for a lifetime. (One of those friends is Tevya =D) And these women are amazing – loving, intelligent, witty, supportive – the kind of friends I’ve always dreamed about, and they all love to read just like I do.
